An amazing scene takes place here at the river Jordan, while Jesus was being baptised. This took part during the afternoon. A voice was heard, the sky opened and a dove was seen. The people who were there to witness were amazed and scared.

Term Reflection

My highlights for term 2 was swimming because it was so awesome because that was the first 6 time swimming with my friends. Also my Highlights was the 3 way conferences because my report was good. Other Highlight was meeting a professional graffiti artist Jonny Wartmon.

My low light for this term was my attitude because I get distracted easily by other students. Also was making bad choices because I hurt lot of people.

Next term I would make good choices and try to be a good leader for our class and to others. Next term I am looking forward for Rugby League for our kiwi sports and Badminton.

Week 8 Reflection

My highlights for week 8 was watching Room 4 assembly

My lowlights were hurting Szaskia on the chess.

Nickson From MaiFM

On Wednesday we were lucky to have a visit from Nickson from MaiFM. He worked at 5 different radio stations in 7 years. Nickson best mate is Nate. Nickson is never mean to people.  He got a cat and the cat has more space in the house than he does. Nickson got out his phone out of his pocket and recorded Taiwan. Taiwan sang That What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction song.Nickson said that he play 170 songs a week. He works with 2 main networks in the radio. He said find something you really like then you'll be good at it and work hard. He also said that they are 37 radio stations in Auckland. He talks about his wife on MaiFM. He turned a negative comment in his report card to a positive. I really like Nickson to come back

Michelle Visit

On Friday we had a guest speaker who spoke to us about how she became successful. She works at Niu FM and a DJ. Her name is Michelle Newton . She meets lots of famous people like Stan Walker and Ruby Frost. She also is a stand up comedian. She told us to study hard and told us to work hard. She was always noisy when she spoke. She is a Cook Islander. She embarasses her kids. Her mum and dad inspire her. She is a sound engineer. She also is funny and 32 years old. She learnt how to use all the staff in the radio.

Persuasive Writing

I Believe that Goldilocks has sinned against the Bears.

Firstly, She broke into the bears house. Goldilocks  is bad bit is because against the law. She trespassed into someone house that she doesn't that in the own.

Secondly, She used things without asking and broke things. She doesn't own anything that in the house. She couldn't afford things she broke.

Thirdly, She left when they came home. She didn't ask for forgiveness. She didn't clean her mess when she broke their stuff and didn't say sorry.

I believe that Goldilocks should go to jail. She should have payed for all of the things she broke.

Olympics Torch Description

The Olympic torch is lit in every game of the Olympics. It still stays lit even when the rain and the winds comes.

The Olympic torch looks bright and it is made out of copper petals which are light to carry. It feels hot and it will burn you if you touch it. It also smells flammable and it burn really badly if you are not careful.

The Olympic torch is seen in the stadium so people will know if it is lit or not lit. The olympics happens in every four years.

The olympic flame is used to show people that the Olympics has begun. When it is put out we know that the Olympics are over for another four years. Every country came into the stadium with a petal for the torch and they put them together to make the torch.

The Olympic torch symbolizes when the olympics is on and when the Olympics torch is blown out then the Olympics is finished

Netbook Description

I got my netbook on the first the day of the year.

My netbook looks black, it has a shiny keyboard with a thin screen. My triple e pc is also smooth on the top and rough underneath. It is warm sometimes when I am using it and it gets cold when I am not using it. My learning tool has air coming out from the bottom of the netbook and it has a login sound when I leave the volume on.

My Netbook is kept in a C.O.W. to charge overnight.

My learning tool helps me with my learning. It also gets us on the Internet. My netbooks helps me do my homework at school and at home.

My triple e pc is used by typing on the keyboard. We treat our netbooks carefully. We also use it with our hands to type. My mini netbook is treated with respect and I am responsible on it to make sure I am cybersmart.

My mini Netbook is special because we are some of the first people in New Zealand to use netbooks for our learning.

My netbook is very good for people to use. My triple e pc is very fast to get in the Internet.

Descriptive Activity 1

In Writing we are learning about descriptive writing. I practised thinking up descriptive words of different things.

            

Imagination Story

“Go and help your Dad in the gardens” shouted my Mum. I walked over to my Dad slowly and he shouted “I want you to dig a big hole until I tell you to stop, I’m going to make myself a coffee” “yes Dad” I whispered.

“I’m bored” I said to myself. But I have to do this so I dug and dug until I stepped in the wrong place and suddenly I fell and hit my head on a hard rock. I opened my eyes and I looked around and I saw small trees and very big grass all over the place and a volcano looking like it was going to erupt. I whispered to myself “where am I?” and a giant bee flew across my face. I was scared.

I saw a giant man and he had a big body with strong legs and arms, four arms and four eyes coming close to me. I got up and ran but suddenly I tripped on the rock that I had knocked my head on. The giant man picked me up and he whispered “who are you?” I whispered back “who are you?” and he answered “I’m Four Arms”. I answered back “I’m Robin, where am I?” “you're in the Mysteries Island?” Four Arms shouted. “where can I get out of this place?” I whispered to Four Arms and Four Arms yelled “here this is a golden compass”. The compass was shiny, golden and amazing. He threw me the compass and he said “where do you live, North or South?” I opened the compass and pointed the compass to North because we lived in North and suddenly my house appeared. I walked straight then I turned back to Four Arms and he yelled “goodbye” and I whispered back to Four Arms “goodbye”. I turned and I walked straight to my house.

As soon as I got back my dad came with his coffee and yelled “stop now you can have a rest, where did you get that compass?” and lied so I wouldn’t get in trouble and said “I found it over here” and sat down for a rest.

Holiday Recount

After term 1 of school it was a holiday. On Monday night I went to the movie night. We watched the movie in the hall.

They had popcorn, lollies, chocolate and drinks. Me and Simione had to take the popcorn and lollies to the people that were there. The first movie was Jack and Jill. I didn’t have time to watch it because I had to deliver the popcorn because there were heaps of people. Jack and Jill was finished and we had to eat. 

There was another movie, it was called Real Steal. That was my favourite movie because it had a robot fighting. It was 9:30pm and Lame had to stop the movie because it was getting late, but we were not tried but we wanted to keep watching it so we all shouted to "Lame, nah let'a keep watching it” but Lame said "no".

We had to stop the movie and then we had to clean up the hall because there was rubbish everywhere. We had to bring five brushes and I was playing around with Simione and then we got dropped off by Lame and we went home and my Mum was angry because we were late.

Orienteering Week 1

On a sunny morning when we were doing our work Miss Tui came into the classroom and told us to stop what we were doing and come to the mat because we were going to do Orienteering. First we have to practice in the classroom before we got started. We had two orienteering teachers their names were Mr McGivern and Irene.


Mr McGivern drew a map on the board around the classroom to help us look for the clues. Some girls and boys hid a piece of paper with alphabet letters on them and then told Mr McGivern where they hid it. Mr McGivern drew where they put the piece of paper on the board. When Mr McGivern finished drawing where they put them we had to look for it. After Mr McGivern told us what to do he told us to go and find it and the clues would make a word. We went and I rushed around looking for a letter and I found one, it was an A.

Mr Mcgivern told us to come to the mat to and check to find every letter that was on the paper. We had no idea what it said but Mr McGivern gave us a clue, he told us to to read it backwards and someone said out loud “have a nice day” then everybody started to say it. 

Mr McGivern told us it was time to go to the field and have a little game of Orienteering. Mr McGivern told us to get in two groups, Mrs Denney picked the two teams, I was in my friend team and my other friends were in the other group. We went and lined up while Mr McGivern and Irene came outside the classroom. We went to the field and had a quick game before the bell rang. We had to follow Irene and the other group had to follow Mr McGivern. When we were there we saw the controls all ready. 

We had a game and when we finished we went to the next game where the other group had been doing their orienteering game. The bell rang and we had to go back to class and get our lunch.

Howick Historical Village

My favourite thing from our trip to Howick Historical Village was the Parlour games. We had some olden day teacher called Mrs Dodd. Mrs Dodd told the girls to wipe their shoes before we got inside. Mrs Dodd told the boys to do what the girls did and we did. The house was big it even had stairs.

When the boys got inside we saw the girls in line then Mrs Dodd told the boys to get in line like the girls. After that Mrs Dodds told us to get in groups so Miss G said “why don’t we use the team that we did in the Scavenger hunt?” so we got in the teams.

The first game was the String Game. We got a string and put it over our head to our feet or we could do it the other way. My group won two times, one was a draw. Our teams names were Lakers and the other team was the Dragons.

It was time to play another game this game was called Neck and Ball. Here is how to play the game, the person beside you will give you the ball to your neck and you have to give the ball to the next person’s neck. We won again two times.

After the game Mrs Dodd told us to make a circle and a person gets a blindfold and a big pillow. Mrs Dodd spins you around until you are dizzy and you have to walk up to anyone and drop the pillow to the front of the person then you have to say Squeak Piggy Squeak. The person you drop the pillow has to a sound like a pig. It was finally my turn, Mrs Dodd spun me around and I got dizzy. I walked up and I dropped the pillow and I said “Squeak, Piggy Squeak” and the person sound like a pig. It was other students turn and it took ages to finish.

Finally we get to look around the house. Then we went into groups to look around the house. The bell rang for lunch. I had fun playing in the house and it was cool when we played games.

Oktapodi

Oktapodi was short film that was set in Greece. Room three watched the movie  because we want to share our opinion. In the movie the characters are the orange octopus called Oktapodi and the pink octopus and the man driving the van.

In  the story the orange octopus and the pink octopus got together  then the pink octopus got taken away and the orange octopus tried to get her back. Oktapodi went after her and the man tried to start the truck and the orange octopus ran as fast as he could and then the van started and Oktapodi hung on to the back of the truck and looked in the window and the man got sacred. The man was punching at him and the man was missing and then the car stopped. The orange octopus and the pink octopus was out of the car and they tried to escape from the man by jumping into the pool. The pink octopus jumped to the umbrella and the orange octopus jump straight to the man and the man got the orange octopus and the pink octopus and they went down a massive amount of stairs. The two octopus’ went up the and the man drove into the sea. A bird came down and took Oktapodi and the pink octopus went after the bird so that she could save the Oktapodi.

My opinion of the movie was it is cool because the orange octopus and the pink octopus jumped from pool to pool.

Prayer Time

Every body came and sat on the mat and made a circle and got ready for prayer. Miss G lit the candles which were sitting on the purple cloth. One of the leaders said “in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit Amen”.

The leaders did a prayer each and one of the leaders told us to do the “our father’’ and we did. We had a quiet time after the prayers, we nearly finished our prayer.

In the name of the father and of the son the and of the holy spirit. The girls packed away the prayer stuff and one of the leaders blew the candles out.
